Celebration of Science  


The “Celebration of Science” is an annual festival style event to celebrate the contributions of science-based industries and STEM professionals in our Mid-Columbia area to our everyday life. It is designed for all ages! This event is hosted by Three Rivers Science.

Free to attend: John Dam Plaza

– Booths with information about STEM-based organizations
– Booths with science-based activities for kids and families
– Real, live Scientists for you to “Ask Me Anything”
– Food trucks on-site for fueling scientific curiosity

Tour De Coop


Learn what it takes to have chickens, get advice from people that are living it, and get some ideas for your future coop! Find out how easy, clean, and fun it is to have backyard chickens. Learn the many health and environmental benefits there are too! Visit www.tourdecooptricities.com for questions and to find the map of the tour. The Coopsters will be available from 9 AM to Noon at their homes for you to drop by, see what they have going on in their backyard coops, and ask questions. What is Go Green Tri-Cities?

Go Green Tri-Cities is a volunteer organization under the direction of the local non-profit, Sustainable Energy and Environmental Network. It's goal is to educate the public on local environmental issues and highlight green businesses, organizations, resources, and events in the Tri-Cities, WA. It is maintained by a group of like-minded volunteers and is supported by both financial and in-kind contributions made by businesses and organizations in our community.

Let's talk about Reduce/Reuse/Recycle!

Reduce the amount of garbage you put out this month. Here are 10 ways to reduce waste!

Reuse: Repair, repurpose, trade, and/or buy with reuse in mind, and  BYOB (bring your own bag) when you shop. Donate used clothing to thrift stores, and buy used whenever possible. When remodeling considering purchasing from or donationating to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 309 Wellsian Way, Richland. Call 943-5555. They accept Items like furniture, appliances, cabinets, lighting, carpet, and building materials.
